SDCC 2025

This week the San Diego Comic Con is underway. It used to be a big part of my year. Not for setting up and making money (no one bought stuff there) but just as a trip to connect with people and network.

I think I went every year for 15 years, right up until 2020, then realized that last year that…there really wasn’t a point.

I’m not clamoring to talk to editors anymore. I don’t care about exclusives or premieres…or crowds. I would connect with people I knew here and there, look at some art in person (like old paintings and lineart by older artists) then come home and spend a week catching up on sleep.

The last year I was there the allure and specialness of it was just, gone.

So I see posts and pictures of the chaos and think, man, I’m glad I’m home.
